Autumn holidays in South Tyrol at the Apparthotel Gartenresidence Nalserhof
The charm of autumn with its magnificent colours, abundance of fruit and enjoyable festivities
Autumn is harvest time, with the orchards and vineyards bursting with fruit. The brightly coloured forests of the surrounding hills and mountains are perfect for pleasant autumn walks.
Enjoy the golden autumn on easy paths under the warm and pleasant sunshine, with plenty of romantic nooks and places to rest.
Late autumn is the time for “törggelen”, the South Tyrolean custom of informal get-togethers for something to eat and drink after the grape harvest, traditionally offered by winegrowers to their workers and helpers. Typical törggelen fare includes Sußer (grape must in the first days of fermentation) and Nuier (young wine) to drink, served with Keschtn (roast chestnuts) and perhaps sweet Krapfen (fritters). For the main course, hearty meat platters are usually provided such as, among other things, salt pork, sauerkraut, sausages, black pudding and dumplings.
